Chidi Okoye | Nigerian

Nigerian born, Chidi A. Okoye graduated with a distinction in sculpture from the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu, Nigeria, in 1988. For the next six years he taught sculpture and drawing at Federal Polytechnic Oko Anambra State Nigeria. During this period, he created an outstanding collection, not only sculpting, but painting and writing as well. In Nigeria, He had his national solo exhibition “Textures of Life” and launching of his book “Lamentation” at national museum Lagos in 1993 sponsored by Mobil Producing Nigeria. Okoye is as famous for his poetry as for his painting and sculpture. In 1994 Okoye moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he immediately became involved in a number of projects promoting international artistic exchange and was a leading light in the local Black creative community. Okoye believes that his art offers him a chance of relating to his environment, complementing the beauty of nature with man-made forms and images, which spring from his ancestral culture. He combines the strength, uniqueness and dynamism of his heritage with a technically skilled understanding of the power of forms, feeling and materials to create works, which continue to thrill audiences. - Chidi Okoye

Miroslav Stefanov Jotov - Cirk was born on the 26th of July 1977 in Isperih, Bulgaria.
Miroslav Jotov or Cirk as he is fondly known to his friends is an enterprising and versatile young artist whose work and scope embraces an amalgam of styles that highlight his unique individualism and view of the world. His style is unique - because of its Bulgarian accent and emotion, the brush strokes are well articulated and on occasions lustful, as if he is trying to seduce the viewer. This particular idiosyncrasy has won him accolades and admiration from his peers, critics and connoisseurs.
He has participated in several exhibitions in Bulgaria including major ones in Shumen, Isperih and Divdiadovo. His paintings are well sort after by the discerning connoisseurs, young professionals and entrepreneurs with a sophisticated taste for vibrant and captivating colours and that unique Balkan perspective.
His still life paintings can only be properly described as enigmatic. One can not fail to notice that his work in this area often accentuate the background in which they are set - tranquillity juxtaposed against a vivid and energising backdrop. Miro’s paintings remind me of the great Bulgarian landscape dotted with sleepy villages and are quintessentially Balkan and traditional. It is his acceptance of tradition as a foundation that serves as catalyst or launch pad for his modern and liberal contributions to art.
His major works include large personal spaces in both residential and commercial buildings. He has won prestigious prizes amongst which was a first place in art exhibition in Shumen in 2005. His first individual exhibition was held in the same city on 16th of March 2006. Further exhibitions were held in several parts of Bulgaria including his home town of Isperih.
